We had two broodies and other hens continued to lay in the nest so I got the timeline all confused. Four of them hatched on Wednesday and I moved them with mama #1. The second hen has been sitting on the nest patiently and when she got up to eat and drink today I went to check on the eggs. I marked them with a red colored pencil but didn't see it on the eggs anymore. I wasn't sure if they were still going to hatch or what days it was for these eggs so I flipped one over. It was separated from the rest. When I turned it I saw a small pip on the egg. I freaked out and didn't know what to do so I turned it back where I found it. I heard some chirping inside. I think maybe it separated itself from the rest so it could hatch. I made myself leave so I wouldn't bother the other eggs.
When I turned it the first time should I have just left it alone or is it okay to turn it back to where it was as I had found it?
