Two weeks ago I was given a duckling to raise - knowing that I had ducklings hatching soon I didnt worry to much about the little one being on its own for a while. But today - even though the ducklings have pipped and are hours away from hatching- I just had to get her a friend of her own kind. After seeing so many Muscovie duckling photo on here- all the wonderful colours- I couldnt resist getting a little coloured baby. A few days younger than yellow Annabel- I now have a little blue baby as well. I have to name this one Bleenie- since if it wasnt for all your photos posted- I would have been able to resist bringing home this little one today.

I am not to fond of it either - But my daughter loves them ...despite the new baby pooping in her hand on the way home. ( must remember to carry tissues in the car in future ) I cant keep another breed- so they have to find a forever home at some stage.

They are just so different from Runner ducklings. At least now she will have company that speaks her language when the Runners go into the brooder in a day or so.

LOL, great photos - they are both cutiepies.

I'm used to be not so keen on the caruncles either but Muscovies get talked about by their owners with such devotion and affection that I've changed my view. I'm sure that even the most committed anti-caruncler would have to become a convert after getting to know a 'Scovy. And who couldn't love these two?

There's no embarassed smiley!? but I am all smiles anyway, lol
