I have chickens, I love chickens I thought they were addictive. I have ducks, I thought they were addictive.

My poults are the worst. They follow me around the house, they attempt to get IN my house to be with me. They want to sit on my lap and do. All my other birds are much more skittish. I think poults are the best!

I have young kids and did not handle my poults as much as I would have liked to as I'm really busy. This has not effected how friendly they are. I just love them. Now comes the hard question....How am I suppose to eat these adorable friendly babies???

I don't look forward to doing mine either but will. Just can't justify as many turks as I have, particularly Toms. Besides if next years breeding is to be limited to one or two varieties I have to cull almost everything else. The only one that has a pass is a golden Narri that has my heart. Like your said the only way he gets to the dinnertable as the guest of honor is if he turns nasty. Hmm notice how nasty and tastey almost sound the same?

You trade them with someone else who cant bear to eat theirs. You eat his, he eats yours, all is well with the world.
Pick a couple of favorites and ignore/eat the rest.

Ask for volunteers, the first one to run up get the AX

You wont feel so bad once they are in the freezer.

I thionk I would do it the exact opposite way. Go outside and say turkey turkey turkey and the last ones that get there get it! You know the least friendly ones. I can't pick a few favorites, I can't tell any of them a part! Perhaps I should mark them!
