ice pack for head saw chook

my chook as some of you have read has head trauma causing the crooked neck syndrome in my young female polish bantam. i thought that when i have a headacke i use an ice pack to ease the swelling. so i got a cold bottle of water from the fridge and gently pressed it against the bump of the crest area on the head. to my surprise my chicken snugled up the the cold bottle and began to make coowing noises. every now and then it would rub its head back and forth against the bottle. it was the most straingest thing to watch. so ive been doing this for once half an hour a day. its starting to eat now...oddly though it grabs a bit of pellit and turns its head upside down to eat it. im confident that she will recover if i keep up the massage therapy on her neck, and the vitamins and the ocasional cold water bottle.

original problem was because it is a polish thanks to unicorn it has a hole in the skull for the lump crest. its suseptable to head trauma from pecking and falls.
i came upon it like this when i came to feed my chickens. it had its head curled under its boddy and was walking backwards. i thought it had brocken its neck!. so off the the vet and it turned out that when birds hit their heads realy badly they lose their balance or iner ear imbalance. it can recover depending on how badly the trauma on the brain. so far my chicken still hasnt regained its balance after a week and a half. sigh.,, but it is alert and eating weirdly though.
i realy love my polish chook no matter what anyone says. my dad said to put it down...but its my pet and their is a posability of recovery. im sure most of you would do the same thing.

My Silkie Pumpkin was that way. I don't know if it was from a head trauma but she twisted her head upside down and ate that way. I did massage and vitamins and today she is just fine and my Diva Chicken.
