Icing...looking for a recipe for less sweet or whipped?

My son will be 6 on tuesday. Does anyone have a recipe for the less sweet icing like they use at the grocers' bakery?

I don't know if all grocery stores do this but at the one here you can go in a buy just the whipped cream type frosting. It wouldn't hurt to ask...

You can frost a cake with cool whip. If you are making a powdered sugar frosting substitute some white flour for part of the sugar. My aunt used to make cakes professionally and I got the flour tip from her.
