Our hen, Bonnie, turns out to be a rooster who've we've named Muttly. He's actually pretty nice, but he, of course, crows. I would like to keep him if I can, but one neighbor is terribly afraid of roosters, and another seems to find his singing annoying. I've read a few suggestions for how to quiet down a roo, such as giving him toys or lowering the height of the cage. Does anyone else have any other suggestions (that don't include surgery or altering his hormones)?
