I’m pretty sure the brown one is a chocolate Orpington? The grey ones resemble sapphire gems or blue Plymouth rocks, but I am by far no expert. The buff one I’m not sure of at all, her body type doesn’t resemble the chocolate “Orpington” and she is the smallest of the bunch. Thanks in advance!

Do you think the brown one is a chocolate Orpington? I’m also hoping that one is a hen but I’m unsure. The one grey one I’m pretty positive is a cockerel, which I’m okay with as long as there’s not more than one.

I am not an ID person, but I will say that your darker bird has dark legs and I believe Orps should have yellow legs like the Buff in your photo. And none of the combs scream rooster to me (but again, I am really new at attempting to sex young chickens.)

Buff Orpingtons have white legs, like the female you have in the last photo.

Blue, black, chocolate, and lavender Orps have dark slate or black legs.

I think all are female here.

I can't tell in the photo whether the one you're calling chocolate is that color or just a dull black. There is no brown tint to the feathers in the photos, to my eyes, but pictures don't always pick up color correctly.

The two blue ones could be Andalusians. They seem to have tighter feathers, and they're maturing rapidly, which is right for that breed.

They could also be blue Australorps or maybe blue Orpingtons.

I don't think they are Sapphire gems. Those would have a yellow color on the underside of their feet. The rest of the breeds I've named will have a white or pinkish white color under the feet.

Thank you! I looked at the photos and you’re right, the chocolate one does appear like a shady black but in person he/she has an obvious brown pigment. I hope all are females! The reason I think the one blue one is a cockerel is “his” comb is much more pronounced and red than the other blue one. HOWEVER similar they appear I’m not a hundred percent sure they’re the same breed. My boyfriend picked them all out at rural king, none had any information on them, and he can’t remember if he got them from the same bin or not. They also looked different as chicks, and I believe he originally wanted to choose different breeds.

I’m leaning more towards blue Australorp for the blue ones. They’re not Andalusians, as those have white earlobes. It also looks like you have a buff and a chocolate Orpington, especially seeing the chick pictures of the chocolate. I see some definite brown in there.
