I've been thinking about putting a cinder block in the run with treats hanging above it. I'm hoping this will provide both enrichment as well as a way to keep their claws trimmed.

They're especially motivated by the neighbors' overgrown grapes right now. I've been pulling off clusters through the fence.

That is a great idea! You could use an onion bag or suet feeder and hang almost anything above the block.

Do chickens like suet? I just found one in a cupboard and was wondering what to do with it, since I don't have a feeder anymore.

I don;t know about that, but the little cages you'd use to hang suet can be filled with fruit, lettuce, tortillas, etc. It makes the treat more engaging and keeps it off the ground.
