In mid May, we'll be picking up 8 Crested Cream Legbar (CCL) pullets and straight-run Black Copper Marans from a breeder, leaving only white and olive to round out our egg rainbow.
The week after we pick up the breeder babies, the farmers co-op has Cream Brabanter chicks from Ideal on the schedule. It's a breed I've been interested in, and we have the space to add 3, but I'm hearing mixed reviews on Ideal Brabanters: that the chicks are either awesome or insane.
Can anyone weigh in on how their Ideal Brabanter chicks have been in the brooder and what their grown Brabanters are like? Hardy? Calm or crazy? Good layers? Bonus points for pictures.
