what is the ideal type of feeder for ducks?.. the chick feeders work great for a while, but our older two ducks have difficulties eating out of that type of feeder...we tried giving them a couple different types of chicken feeder we have laying around, but the feed gets wet and clogs the feeder so nothing comes out... we have resorted for now to a simple dish of feed, but they make a horrible mess and waste a good portion of it... what do you folks use?...

ours are about a month now... we took away the chick feeder after the second time one managed to get it's bill wedged in one of the holes...

Mine are still using the chick feeder but we'll be needing something else soon too. I was leaning towards a homemade trough for them. I am hoping if i raise it up a bit they might not walk through it quite so much.

I use heavy glass or ceramic bowls I buy at thrift stores for a 1$. I also use those blackdouble feeders from TS. You need something deep as they fling while eating

Glass is easy to clean, if heavy enough they don't dump them and don't usually break . I like them about 4"+ deep and about 4-8" across.
