Ideal Poultry!

I had three shipments from Ideal Poultry and they all arrived happy and healthy! I was very pleased with this hatchery. I will post pictures later. I ordered d'uccles, silkies, and the white rhode islands!

They would be called Rhode Island Whites. And they are completely different than RIR. Made in the same state, but completely different breeds.

We ordered 18 Cochin pullets from Ideal Poultry. 1 did not make it, but I feel that this is expected/risk when receiving an order by mail.
We received a call from USPS at 7:00am that the chicks had arrived. I promised my kids if they were quick, they could come with me to pick up the chicks. I have never seen my kids move that fast in the morning. A USPS employee was helpful with pointing out to me, in a calm manner, without upsetting my children, that a chick had not made it. I was able to explain to the kids what happen calmly in the car. They are 6 & 7. Explaining death is never easy.
I spoke to Ideal Poultry the day the chicks arrived and explained what happen. They quickly credited my credit card.
I put in a request to be notified when Cochin pullets where available again with Ideal Poultry. They contacted me a week later and scheduled a ship date for 4 weeks later. They called me a week before my scheduled shipment to let me know they could ship them to me a week earlier.
I have not work with other hatcheries, but I was impressed with the level of customer service that I received from Ideal Poultry.

I order 25, 8 different breeds. All arrived alive and kicking and still are, last time I checked.
