We have an extension around our run and would love to add an actual gate of sorts that doesn’t blow over in the wind like this one. Any ideas?

I have hog panels that I cut into 3 foot sections that I used for the doors into my garden and my bird runs. I pounded 2 t posts 3 feet apart and then zip tied one side to make a "hinge". I'll eventually replace the zip ties with something stronger but it works for now. I keep them closed with clips from the dollar store.

What is that you are using that looks like netting? I would’ve liked something like that when I took my littles out for an hour here or there!
Shade cloth! We had deer netting for awhile but it was warping. This has a bit of stretch too but seems to work quite well and looks nicer.

The way I make a gate like that I put a piece of stiff wire around the fence post maybe 3" or 4" off the ground and use fencing staples to hold it in place. At the end of the gate fencing I use a vertical post firmly attached to the fencing. At the top of the fence post I have another piece of stiff wire that loops over the top of the "vertical" post on the gate side. If this link works it may give you an idea of what I'm trying to talk about.

The posts at the end of my electric netting are tied together with a cord that is, essentially, a bootlace.

Now that it's stopped raining, I have to get photos of the work DH did on the nestboxes last night so I'll try to get a picture of that arrangement for you.
