My chickens have devoured every green blade in their run. It's no use planting grass there as they will just rip it up? What do you do to solve this? As I am not always there to supply them with it? I would need a small-scale suggestion as I only have four hens (I am getting more this year). So what is best? Pots...or boxes.. or cartons? Pics would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Haha I'm wondering the same thing but I'm pretty sure we will either have to turn to free ranging or tractor run or just have to understand they won't get green on their feet.

I grow fodder (a.k.a wheat grass) for my birds. For more information check out the below link.

You could also sprout whole grains to give to your birds, or pick grass/weeds etc and give to your flock daily.

Currently my ducks, geese, chickens, guineas, and peafowl are all penned up so I either grow fodder for them or just forage around yourself and pick lots of greens for them. Hope this helps.
