Ideas on keeping chickens from eating grass for a few days?

Any ideas on keeping the chickens from eating grass for a few days? I just put fertilizer down the other day (pesticide-free kind, watered the hell out of it to make sure it was all dissolved) and want to give it a chance to work for the grass.

Any ideas on cutting the grass eating down a bit for a few days? I considered sitting guard with a hose for a few days to at least guard the one area I am worried about but I don't want the chickens to develop a grudge against me.

You could always have them in a temporary run or pen away from the grass. I don't they'd be too uspet if you gave them plenty of other treats and such to keep occupied.

keep them off the grass, period. I'ld be pretty worried about them ingesting the fertlizer pellets. Even if you have to keep them cooped up til it is all gone.
