Identification please

Hi there!
I'm new here and from Alberta, Canada.
I live in a residential area and this little one showed up. I posted on Facebook and they IDed it as a quail. I just want to double verify before doing the next steps of trying to capture it as they can't survive -30C right?

It's not a coturnix quail. Based on the beak, I'm guessing bobwhite? @007Sean

If they are dry, out of the wind, and have shelter, they can be very cold hardy.

The beak is not coturnix. That's why I was thinking bobwhite.

That's why I was thinking Bob as well, but the color seams more on the coturnix side than Bob white. Unless they look different in different seasons.

Interesting. We think it's a juvenile, what do you think? Facebook group identified as Coturnix too, but I wasn't sure. I know 1% about quails though.

I think the beak is closer to the bobwhite instead of coturnix. As @Nabiki said, dry, out of the wind and sheltered, it would probably be OK most of the time, but I'm not sure about -30 C.
