Identify a disease - lethargy, tail feathers down, no eating or drinking, bright green diarhhea and

Am new to chickens. Have recently lost two lovely birds to similar symptoms. It has been hot so suspected it was dehydration but can't be sure. Both hens one 2 year old orpington and a 3 month old black maran became lethagic with their heads and tails down. Would not ea or drink. Would just huddle with their eyes closed feeling bad. Both dued with in 24 hours. Both had bright green runny poop. Any ideas?

Green poop usually indicates not eating(other than eating grass clippings,etc). How hot has it been? Heat stress/stroke can and does kill chickens. Chickens do not have any sweat glands,they rely on their respiratory system to cool themselves down. If your chickens show signs of heat stress(hard panting,wings spread,lethargic,not eating/drinking,confused)immediately submerge them in a pail up to their neck in COOL water(NEVER USE COLD WATER,this will shock them). This will immediately drop their body temp,and will probably save their life.

Look at information for Coccidiosis,some symptoms are runny/watery poop(may or may not contain blood,depends on which of the 9 strains of cocci it is)fluffed feathers,lethargic,weight loss,not eating/drinking properly. If chickens show any symptoms,purchase Corid(amprolium)dose for Corid 20% powder is 1/2 tsp per gallon of water,dose for Corid 9.6% liquid is 2 tsp per gallon of water. Treat ALL chickens for 5 days,do not give vitamins during treatment(interferes with medication)give vitamins after treatment is complete.
