Identifying a breed based on egg size and color

Hello all,

I was gifted some fertile chicken eggs from a friend of mine. Unfortunately, the friend had no idea what breeds they were from - only that she knew at least one rooster was on the property.

While I know I would be oblivious to 50% of the genetics (since I don't know what kind of rooster), is there a way I can at least know the hen's breed based on egg size and color? Even narrowing it down to a handful of breeds would help me out, and I can narrow it down further once they hatch.

All of the eggs are 40 grams and have a strongly tapered point. Half od the eggs are pure white and half of them are just a shade on the cream side, but not enough to be considered buff or brown.

Is that enough to go off of? I am not familiar with chicken breeds, apart from RIR & white legbars, etc. I do not know anything about these smaller breeds that I imagine would lay such small eggs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

How large are they? From what you are saying, it sounds like they're bantam eggs. But we can't really say much on the breed of the hens based on egg color and shape alone, since there are many types of bantam (and standard-size hens) that lay white and cream eggs. Once they hatch, we should be able to start guessing the breeds in the chicks.

40 Grams is pretty big, I think...
Unfortunately, there's lots of chickens that lay cream colored eggs and white eggs. Pics of the adult flock would narrow some things down... and then once the babies hatch and start to feather, we can help figure out who's who...
Thanks. They are actually pretty small. A "large" chicken egg (what I normally find in the store) is typically 60 grams. This person also gave me some RIR eggs, but I didn't want to incubate those. The RIR eggs are a little bigger than these eggs, coming in at around 50-55 grams.
I can't get any pictures of the adult flock, but I will definitely be taking lots of pictures of the baby chicks! I was just hoping to have an idea of what they are before they hatch so I could better prepare. And since the rooster is a mystery, I am not even sure I will ever be able to get an exact breed ID, since they will possibly be mixed.

Actually, after I typed that part, I realized I was wrong. LOL Oh well.

yea, get pics of the babies after they get feathers and we can go from there!

We got some chicks!!! I've gotten 3 of the white eggs to hatch so far. Still waiting on the others. Today is day 21 of incubating.

Here are some close-ups of the chick. I've only ever had RIRs before, so I don't know much about the different kinds of breeds. Any ideas what these are? It was a bantam hen and an unknown rooster. Thanks!
