We have a lot of chickens and know 95% of the breeds that we’ve hatched. But there are a few younger pullets I’m not sure of and some adopted hens/rooster as well.

First, I took in this rooster and the two hens not knowing what they were. I’m curious to find out, as one of my pullets is their offspring. We also put a few of each hens eggs in the incubator last week.

Three pullets im unsure of what they are. First one is almost solid white. She could be a frost white CC Legbar, Isbar, Swedish Flower or the offspring of the birds above? I’m not quite sure.

The other two look to have feathered legs but similar coloring of the adult birds above. One could be their offspring, Maran or Isbar? All of the others that hatched were accounted for.

Any help is much appreciated.

I think the rooster is Birchen color.
He's got a rose comb, so maybe Wyandotte?
But I think he's got white legs, and Wyandottes are supposed to have yellow legs, so maybe he's a cross? (Or some other breed. I can't think of any possibilities right now, but maybe someone else can.)

The blue hen could be a cross--there seem to be some blue-colored sexlink hens in the stores this past few years (they lay brown eggs). Or possibly a Blue Andalusian (white eggs), but those are supposed to have white earlobes, and your hen's are mixed red/white, so I'm not sure.

The black hen could be a Black Australorp, but there exist plenty of other black breeds with red earlobes and single combs. Probably not a black sexlink, because those usually have some red or gold in the breast area.

Whether the white pullet could be the daughter of that rooster with either of those hens depends on what kind of white she is (genetically speaking, there are several ways to "make" a white chicken). Unfortunately, it's not obvious by looking. She doesn't appear to have a crest, so probably not Frost White Legbar either. I didn't think those other breeds came in white? Clearly, she's quite a puzzle!

For the other chicks--any with feathered feet must have at least one feather-footed parent. Any that show blue must have at least one parent with blue or splash, but cannot have two splash parents. Any with a pea comb must have at least one parent with a pea comb.

If you have a rooster with feathered feet, the chicks in the last 2 photos might be his daughters from the blue hen.

The blue chick (3rd photo from end) appears to have a pea comb, so must have a parent with a pea comb, in addition to the blue and the feathered feet.

Thank you!

I was suspecting Australorp for the older hen.

I guess I’ll have to wait to see what color eggs come out of them :p

I do know that one pullet is from the blue colored hen. The other could definitely be Maran, as the hatching eggs included blue and mixed colored Marans.

The white one is probably a splash Isbar then. Just with one tiny splash? Still won’t know I guess until she lays her first egg.
