I have 3 chooks... i've had them about 2 or 3 weeks and they have only just started laying 3 days ago. i've gotten 2 eggs a day for three days running... so im thinking that 1 of them isnt laying.

i have only caught one laying, and it is the one of the younger ones...

im just curious if im getting 2 eggs a day out of chooks that should be laying pretty much every day, should i suspect that the old one is past its laying days? or should i leave her a bit longer and she might start to lay soon?

i just thought it was strange that 2 hens seem to be laying and the 3rd is producing nothing?

It could be that they are all laying, but not everyday. Each of them could be taking one day off every three days or some other combination...

Are all of the eggs the same color? Typically, a chiken will lay eggs of the same color every time. If your different chickens lay different colors, them it's easier to determine which egg is whose.

they are isabrowns....

i have friends with chooks and the get an egg a day out of each one?

and.... all the eggs seem to look about the same colour.

and im sorry, i dont know how old they are because i got them from a friend.

they were clueless about them...

they got treated appallingly. 'just animals' was the term he used.

does anyone know how i could tell the age of them?

weight? comb size?

anything?

the big one has a huge comb.
