If you give a goat a muffin... (help needed)

Six weeks ago I saw a feral goat while hunting turkeys and he vanished before I could turn my jeep around. Today I saw him again 4 miles away from the last.place. He is beautiful. Anyways he had a broken rope.around his neck and been out all winter at a minimum. I could use a goat and treat it well. But how do I catch it? Anyone Got ideas.

Today i threw him a muffin but he wouldnt get closer than 10'.

Grain even just chicken scratch, make like a bait station and put it in the same place and sit and wait. Does it have horns? You can make a catch pole very easy just google how to make a catch pole, it will be harder if it has horns to use a catch pole but still doable

You could always try cheerios and sweet feed or even marshmallows and granola...of course even with the goodies he isn't going to let you get very close...I suppose, if I were trying to catch him I would get long pole or stick (maybe a big ol' bamboo stick) and attach some kind of hook or loop of rope (pretty much a catch pole like mnferalkitty mentioned) then smear honey or molasses near the end of of it but a little before the hook/hoop, then I'd would attract him with said goodies(it might take a few days to get his trust going but food has a funny affect on a goats brain ) then when he's busy chewing on the marshmellows or what ever you go with I'd inch the pole over to his head (maybe let him sniff the sweet stuff on it) then "Wam!" Snatch him with it XD

...of course it never it that easy with animals but I'm just saying, If I was in that situation that is what I'd do...or some strange variation of it still involving sweets and rope

Or you could look up "Deer Snares" ...the non-lethal ones of course and modify it for goat capture

how big is he? you can see if your local humane society has any large dog traps.
a friend who is good with a lasso is another option
