hi i have a baby chick only 5 weeks old. this morning i have found her lying , although i cannot see anything wrong except that she wont stand up and is lying over to one side and doesn't seem to be able to hold herself up like she has no strength. her breathing looks fine and her eyes are open and she is quietly cheeping. can anyone help?

Are they on medicated starter? If not, it would be good to treat for cocci. Only one strain causes bloody droppings, and the most common strain causes lesions on the small intestines. Therefore, many chicks may have cocci without even knowing it because the signs are not expected.
