I'm a newbie!

Hi all. I'm just today building my first coop and run! Yeay for me! I have wanted to raise chickens for a long time, now finally getting to it. I've been checking this site as well as some FB chicken sites and am a bit over-whelmed at the volume of information. I really would like a basic list of items that I need to be purchasing before I bring my chickens in. I'm not getting babies, as I want to put them straight in the coop. I love what I've been seeing on this site, and it seems like a family here. Any and all help for helping me get my to do/ to purchase list started will be much appreciated. Thanks and blessings!

Well, what I got was a good waterer



A trough feeder



Some organic layer pellets
and 5 hens.

I'm in the process of trying to figure out which treadle style feeder I'd rather have so I can leave for days at a time and so the rats don't clean out my feed, so you may want to look at that before you buy any other type of feeder.

I also bought a garbage can with a tight fitting lid to keep my feed in so the raccoons and rats don't get it.

I don't know WHY that posted the waterer twice.
