Hi Everyone - I'm a new chicken owner and this is my first forum l have ever joined. So l've copied the template and added my answers

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I got my first two hybrid bantams as babies on 25 November 2010. Their names are Valerie and Ginger.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I have two but just brought home today a Large Blue Orpington hen who's five months old - l've named her Florence - she's just gorgeous and huge compared to my other lovely ladies.

(3) What breeds do you have?

Two bantams and one Blue Orpington

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

I was searching on the website as l needed to know everything about chickens before l dived in and purchased something completely unknown!

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

My husband and l have two dogs - German Short Haired Pointer and a Whippet, a black cat, three chickens and some fish which are all called Fred.

If anyone knows how l can add some photos - please advise - l'm not sure how to do.

Cheers

Welcome!

Look over the FAQ page and you'll find the directions for uploading photos -- along with a whole lot of other stuff.

You may have to hang around a while longer and make some more posts before you can upload pics, though, because of recent problems with spammers. Hopefully not much longer -- we love pics!

Welcome! Watch out

You have to go under the download tab then you download your picture. Then you copy and paste the picture into the post you want.

Hi!

I'm brand new, too. Although I'm jealous - no chickens yet. I'm still trying to fix up my coop and build a run. But I'm deciding on breeds and for some reason I was assuming you couldn't mix the little guys and the big guys? Was I wrong on that one?? I hope so for your sake!!! Can't wait to see pics! Lots to learn.

Good luck!

Lisa

Welcome from the UK

I keep plastic chickens I find it keeps the coop cleaner & they dont eat as much.

Dont ask me how many eggs they lay
