In the Brooder
I used to be a member, but apparently I have forgotten the email I used to originally sign up, as I was unable to log back in today. (It's been a while--my current flock of 2 chooks are 7 years old, and it's been 10 years since I first started on this site.)
Glad to be back! Started out 10 years ago with 4 chooks for the backyard: 2 buff orpingtons, a silver laced wyandotte, and an ameraucana. The oldest of those lived to 9 years old (the wyandotte)! Three years after the first batch, I got 3 more: 2 ameraucanas and 1 cuckoo marans. Just lost one of the ameracaunas last fall, but the other two chooks are still going strong -- the ameraucana is still laying 4-5 eggs/week at 7 years old!!
This spring I've got 2 new chicks, to make sure I have a continuing flock. It's been a while since I raised baby chicks, so I'm back!
