We have several chickens and a few roosters and the lady we got them from gave us the guineas. When we got them we had them in the same place as the chickens but it was getting to small once they all grew so we let the guineas out because i heard they will eat the stickers and bugs. now they just roam. They stay near the house and today i stumbled upon a nest right outside my carport. I know that the guineas dont always make nest i always find the eggs just laying around but these are in a neat little nest there are 12 eggs in it. i have 3 hens and i havent ever seen one sitting on them. like i said im completely lost.. what do i do? will they sit at a specific time of the day or is she going to lay more or what? please help!

They will wait until the nest is big enough (for ours that magic number seems to be 18+) then one or more may go broody and sit on the eggs. and probably gey killed by a preditor. We try to watch the nests and collect eggs after they go to bed to keep the egg count less than ten. until some preditor finds the nest at night and eats all the eggs. then they find a new place and the hunt starts all over again.

IMO if you want more guineas, let something other than a guinea hatch the eggs (chicken or incubator) if you don't, guinea eggs are delicious.

We moved some of them hunder our chickens... we have 2 chickens fighting over one nest so we decided to moved some guinea eggs over and see if they will stay out of each others way... lol but i havent seen any of my guinea hens around the nest at all and we look at the eggs under a light and it looks like they are already developing but idk how to tell if she stated sitting and stopped or what... but i will see if the chickens will hatch them out or not.. thanks...
