Hi
Im sure this question has been asked a lot but im confused by chicken behavior.
Im a first time chicken owner and need advice as to why my three week old chicks seem to fight or maybe its play.
I take them out to their run a couple hrs a day, as long as the weather is nice, to get some fresh air. They run around and exercise their wings but then they start jumping at each other, like a kangaroo kick, chest bump and have stare downs. They dont cause injury and it doesn't last long but I wonder if its fighting could I possibly have all roosters!? (I have 6 assorted bantams- straight run) One of them actually lets out a little crowing sound after an encounter. Its very funny to watch them. It almost seems like play but I have no Idea. And all 6 of them do this!
Thanks in advance
