a cockerel and two pullets or hens I get to choose my cockerel and pullets/hens so I hope I make a good decision.

Sadly I wont have many cockerels to choose from as a raccoon got to many of his birds before I got to choose so I get what's left to choose from but according to the breeder one is really small and looks good so I'm excited! His birds aren't shown but he's working on some nice birds from what he tells me so I'm really excited about it. I'm getting them in a trade for other breeds I don't need that he wants so it works out well! I will post pictures once I get them home I'd love all you Serama breeders/showers/admirers to give me your oppinons on them. I too am not showing them but I perfer to breed to the proposed standard if I can.

I know some of the things to look out for so hopefully I do well in choosing from what I have to choose from. Ya gotta start somewhere right!?

Update: the guy gave me 5!!!

Looks like either 4 hens and one cockerel, or 2 cockerels and 3 hens unsure of the one t hough (as was the breeder) so maybe you can tell me what you think? BTW these birds are not show looking but I think as they mature they'll look prettier...and even if they don't I'll work on breeding towards better birds of them.

He was the easiest to get pictures of lol... everyone else wanted to peck or wander away. Wonderful personalities even on the shyest pullet she just goes un-happy when I mess with her no trying to scramble away from any of them they just sort of deal with it

I am inlove

I think they're just as cute as the Seramas would love a trio of those too someday cometo think of it

Just 3, I have a black jap thats about a year old, she is the chicken my son made me order for him...she has a bit of an attitude, but is cute. And I snagged a Black-tailed White and a Black-tailed Buff from the TSC bin a couple months ago. They both turned out to be girls, but the white is much larger than the buff. I need to take a pic of the buff. She almost always walks around in the stance where her tail is closer to her head and she is pretty low to the ground. I am really happy with her, since she might be the closest thing I get to a Serama lol.

Can't wait to see the pics of your new trio!

awh! ya know I thought that some of the chicks at TSC this year were seramas or japs but it just said mixed bantams on the thing and I'm not good at guessing soo I just left them there but it would have been really cool if I would have taken some home and been right LOL! Some had really short legs too

Some of the bantam chicks they had at our TSC were the tiniest things I have ever seen. I couldn't believe they would turn out to be OEGBs they seemed too little. You would have thought they had bins full of Serama chicks. Thank goodness I knew better or I would have had bought another 100 chicks lol.

haha that's why I stayed away because I had no clue what could have been what. My friend has OEGB and he said some of his are small enough tobe confused with seramas. I keep getting tempted into getting someof those too.... darn cute little bantam birds!!!

I have a OEGB hen that weighs 15 ounces, so she would be a "B" Serama. But she wouldn't be confused with a Serama - The Serama has a "V" silhouette. They have more vertical tail and wing carriage, and they have a more calm temperament.

Congratulation on the trio! Can't wait for pics!

Do you have 'em yet? I'm so excited for you! I could tell from the time recorded on your first post that you were getting them today: I would've gotten up that early, too!
