This is my first hatch and yesterday marked our 21st day. I've had the incubation temps and humidity just as the instructions read. I have the Brinsea Octagon 20 incubator.

Yesterday was 21 days and notta. This morning I have one small crack, but I have 24 eggs. I'm getting worried. Is this normal and I need to be patient or is there something more seriously wrong?? How long does it take from the small crack until I get to see a bird out of its shell? Please help.

I didn't see mine hatch until day 23. From the time I saw the crack to the time of hatch was a long, nerve wracking 9 hours.

Patience is the word for the day (and maybe tomorrow)

I had to get some buddies
have you candled during incubation ?

It can take 24 hours or occasionally even longer, from pip the hatch. The chicks are working hard and need to rest. Be patient, do not open the bator.

and happy hatching!

Is it odd that I only have had one PIP. What are the other guys doing???? I have 24 in the incubator. I did candle all the way through and I didn't remove the few that I was thinking were questionable. I didn't trust myself enough to take them out. This is my first time. That wouldn't impact the hatch would it?
