Or, well, I will be when the boyfriend finds out. He said that I could get quail eventually, once some bills are paid off. No bills are paid off yet, however, I believe that I can make the quail pay for themselves. So, I just put a bid on quail eggs. Wish me luck that I get a good hatch of good, healthy chicks, and that I can sell off most of the hatchlings to make enough to buy a bag of quail food (have a few pounds). Hopefully I can get away with just a start up fee of the cost of the eggs, and then not have to put any other money into them. (HOPEFULLY, lol). Oh, and wish me luck that the boyfriend doesn't strangle me! Lol. I still don't know if I'm going to let him know while the eggs are in the incubator, or if I should wait until they've hatched...

LOL!
Good Luck!
What kind of quail are they? My quail don't eat much... you should be ok. My DH didn't want quail either, until I got them. Now he likes the cortunix better than the chickens. They don't eat much & he likes the noises they make.

They're buttons, so I really should have a good 2-3 months worth of food. It will depend on how many hatch and how many are sold and when. The auction is for 50.

I love my buttons.
It's nice to wake up in the morning & hear birds... especially with all this snow we're getting!
Good luck with your buttons... and your boyfriend!
