im losing one chicken a week..help

I started with 19 chickens and now I'm do12. they are being pecked to death one at a time. they start pecking their rear end ..then it gets bloody..then they all get on her. I don't know how to stop this..any info would be appreciated greatly. thanks in advancewn to

Hi! I'm new to this forum - literally just joined within the last 1/2 hour! So, I'm probably not a real big help, but when we got our chickens we were told to pull the chicken that is getting pecked if you can and put her somewhere until she heals. Apparently they go for the fresh blood, plus if the sore gets infected, it can get maggots and then your whole flock is at risk. Hope that helps a little.

I agree. Looks like cannibalism that can get more help in another subforum.
