im nervous to let my birds out!

I want to free range my chickens now that my flock is complete, but I am so nervous about letting them out the first time...Please any advice on how to start this process?? I have no clue, as this is my first flock.

Make safe place for chicks to roam.
Set up lawn chair, find floppy hat.
Pour your favorite beverage.
Open the coop door.
Enjoy your birds!

You will learn to be creative when you need to get them back to the coop. They might return to the coop/run just for a bite of food or a drink. A favorite treat helps lure them in. If you try and chase them in, they will probably scatter.

After a long day of free ranging (most of that time is spent under a low tree branch or something that provides shade and cover), my chicks come join me on the patio for a treat while I give myself one. Last night they treed a neighbor cat who was trying to climb over my fence. Yesterday morning they kept 3 young squirrels from landing in the yard.
