I've had chickens for 3 years now. Started with 7 and now just down to 3. A light brahma, black sex link, and an Easter egger. I just raise them for eggs and name them all. They are really my pets and will live out their natural lives. This spring we got 10 new little chicks and they just turned 6 weeks old. I named them all after spices, so their my "spice girls" I got 2 light Brahms, 2 Easter Eggers, 2 salmon favorelles, 2 black laced wyandotte, and 2 speckled Sussex. I raised them inside and just introduced them to their coop. It's split in half so the big girls can't get to them, but they don't seem too interested yet. Hoping they will be one happy flock one day!

G'Day from down under Juniperchick15 :frowWelcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out. This one may be of particular interest:
Topic of the Week - Integrating Chicks into an Adult Flock

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.
