I'm new Just wanted to introduce myself!

Hi I'm from Idaho. I live on a farm with my hubby and three kids. I have a couple dozen chickens and three turkeys. I love my chickens. It is going to be hard to say goodbye to my turkeys: Noodles, Roasted,and Potpie. I am having them butchered this week.
I have a question, My chickens have beautiful feathers and I would like to use them in craft projects. Does anyone know how to wash them and care for them?

I throw mine in a paperbag and let them sit until I forget about them, and then someday a year or so later, I find them and they are ready to use!

Actually... I fibbed a bit.... mine are STILL somewhere in a brown paper bag... LOL and it's been almost 3 years! (it was a pheasant, not one of my chooks.... but I'm sure those will go the same route) Hahaha

I have some pheasant feathers too that have been in a bag for oh I don't know how long! Maybe someday I'll use them, heaven forbid I should throw anything out.
