My husband decided it would be easier/quicker to buy an already built out building. We raised it on posts to help with predator evasion and to give them more room to run around when they are caged as well as provide shade in the summer. They have a 4 box nesting box on one side with a rail. On the other side is a one pole roost, decided on one pole to help cut down on pecking. We put linoleum to make it easier to clean. We used 1/2" x1/2" hardware cloth on the run to keep them safe. I love my coop and the chicks seem too also

Very nice. Looks fortified and sturdy. I would take a circular saw and cut several vent openings in the shed for ventillation. You can cover ea. opening with screen and screw an oversized piece of beadboad to the top with hinges to adjust the air flow as needed. Hopefully you have a window on the back for ventillation and to let some light in the coop.

I did cut 4 windows in their coop, 2 above the nesting boxes and 2 on the joining wall. The other wall has the door and the other wall is part of their yard. In addition I put screen and chicken wire on the windows. Thanks for the heads up though!
