According to my husband... The kids and I went and got some ducklings, even though we were only there for feed and shavings lol!

We just got 100 acres with three ponds, we need ducks right?!


They told me the black one is a magpie but I don't think it is... Yellow is a pekin apparently.

The black one is probably a cayuga, and the yellow is probably a pekin, unless the dark color on its face is not a shadow. If it is down color, it may be a runner

I thought they were runners, but he was convinced they weren't! It does have tan markings on its face and back, the black I thought Cayuga too bc it is black as night.

Right there with you, only part is... we aren't on it yet lol Just got it and have to get a well in and house, I proposed a tent but apparently that's unacceptable

LMAO, houses take time to build... I might have to side with your hubby on this one! I can't imagine having 6 ducks inside for 6 months, they are messy creatures!

My wife wont let me get that much land, we have 3.5 acres and when i started my garden, 10 rows 50 ft long, first year and it just kept getting bigger each year until the only place that wasn't planted was the house,so i don't think she will go along with me getting more land, 6 weeks ago i started with 20 Barred Rocks, 2 weeks later i got 10 Red Sex Links and a couple days after that, i got 5 more Red Sex Link and 5 Black Australorp's, then came the need of coop and pen to keep them in. On the bright side, I don't have to go get the horse feed and chicken feed because i am banned from the feed store also, if i go, I'm bringing something besides feed home.

I hear you, we have too much carpet in our house for even dogs, much less messy birds, but i am building the birds a nice condo in the back yard
