Hi, DH has finally gotten me some peeps. We got them about two months ago. I looked online to find out how to "raise chickens in my backyard" and found BYC!!! :-D Everyone has been sooooo nice and helpful here!!! Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart!
I started out with 11: 5 RIRs and 6 whites (one of which turned out to be a "frizzle bantam cochin"), but one of my dogs got one of the reds, so now I'm short one dog and one pullet.
Anyway.... I still don't know how to pronounce "cochin". I understand bantam means she's smaller than "large fowl" breeds. And I still don't know what my whites are; here's a pic:
I don't know exactly how old they are; we got them 2 mos ago and we thought they were probably ABOUT 2 weeks old then, but we're not sure AT ALL. They were the last 11 peeps they had at the store.
