(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I got my first batch of four chickens approximately 7 years ago, in 2010.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
As of right now we have 47 chickens!
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have quite a few; most of them are Rhode Island Reds and Barred Rocks, but we also have mixes, Red Sexlinks, Black Sexlinks, Australorps, Asian Blues, Isa Browns, Orpingtons, and New Hampshire Reds. There are quite a few chickens we've hatched out with our three Rhode Island Red roosters, which means they're most likely all mixes.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
3 years ago I was struggling with symptoms of disease in one of my chickens and I searched for some people who could help me out. I ended up here, and got a quick response to my question and Flame (the sick hen at the time) was up and running around again by the morning, thanks to their advice!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy horse-riding, and I am also a part of my Highschool's FFA + I am President of our FFA Opening/Closing Team. I'm also a part of their horse judging team, too. I enjoy making art, listening to music, and coding website pages. I also make my own stories.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I live in a family of four with my parents and my brother, who just recently had a baby with his fiance (they don't live with us anymore, but he used to). I also have a half brother, although i've never really met him and he's changed his last name. In total, I have 54 pets: 47 chickens, 2 horses and 5 dogs.
