I was reading a post and they were showing Red Sex Links. Now I still can not tell the difference in a RIR roo and hen. Not the red sex links, I do get that one. I know the comb is more red on a roo. But I thought the hens did not have that much of a wattle. But the picuture I saw today the hen did have a large wattle. Could someone again show me a picture of a hen and roo. But if you could a close up one so my old eyes could see the difference.

Thank you ever so much.

I think RIR are one of the hardest breeds to determine the gender. Sometimes the roos and hens can be close to the same size and look very similar. Don't be afraid to ask for help. I have found this forum to be the friendliest and most helpful on the net.

Can't help with the RIR, per se, but I do wish I had $1 for everyone who takes a look at my backyard full of HENS and says "boy you got a lot of roosters there...' because they think that red comb and wattles are only found on roosters.

Too much cartoon watching as kids I guess...
