I'm still getting over my 15% pullet hatch rate. Any words of wisdom?

I have hatched out 24 silkies from October through last week. 4 out of these have been female. I live in the suburbs, and so I've had to part with all my cockerels. I just hatched three more boys!
Fortunately, I have one that's "special" so I get to keep him by default --inside lol.
Has anyone else had a similar experience this winter? I live in the Eastern , and all my eggs have come from the East, some from the South East.
I know there was more wet and less hot than usual. Any other reason besides chance?
None of the eggs was from my flock, btw.

I have none... I think it must be silkie genetics. I hatched 11 of 36 eggs. Bad hatch rate I know. But hatched 7 cockerals, and 4 pullets. Then I purchased a started pullet to give my other 4 girls a little rest... LOL

well I know that if the eggs are at a certain temperature , the will be a boy. and same with girls. I think if the eggs are at a lower temperature, they turn out to be boys. and if they are a higher temperature, they will be girls. that's what I heard but I'm not completely sure

Really good question & observation. I am hatching out a lot of peeps this month....now for the first time since the fall .......and HOPE it isn't all boys that appear. I feel your pain.:<( I can't have roos........but I do have homes for mine should that happen thankfully.
