Hi
My name is Fiona and I am 100% new to chickens so I thought why the hell not just jump in deep and get a few! So I got myself 75 chicks.........yup! 20 Sussex, 20 Welsummer, 10 New Jersey giants 10 Americaunas and 15 Australorps oh and added 5 Geese to the mix as well.

I am loving all there different personalities starting to form and just watching them grow it's definitely an experience that's for sure!

Anyway I just wanted to say Hi and I'm excited to start hearing and learning about back yard chickens

Welcome to BYC, Fiona. Glad you decided to join our flock. Wow, "chicken math" hit quickly at your home. All of us here at BYC have OCD (Obsessive Chicken Disorder) and very few of us are immune to "chicken math.") If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is loads of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your very large flock.

Thank you for the welcome. It has been a big learning curve so far. From finding out we have 6 roosters to a pecking dispute.
I will definitely have a look at the site I am all up for new information that helps.

Very nice to meet your Fiona. You are one of the lucky ones who apparently have no restrictions on the number/gender of chickens you can have.

How great that must feel. So glad you joined the Backyard chickens flock.

Yeah we are very lucky where we are, we are on 20 acres on a range area so we have no restrictions which is lovely. We are just starting so we have a lot of building up to do.

Hi Fiona, welcome to BYC!

Wow, you started big. I was a bit more conservative when I first started...we got 7 and I thought that was enough to keep track of, lol. You are going to have a truck load of eggs in a few months!

Nice to have you here!

Yeah we are haha. When we first got them just at 2 days old we called them the ninja chicks cause every time we turned out back they had escaped from there little coop area that we had made for them lol. I shall post some pics of them after I get back from the farm
