I'm very mad now, someone help please...

Okay... So I have 3 chickens and one passed. My Road island was glued to her for some reason... My road island is a bit defiant and she's always making noises and trying to get her way and sit on top of me and all this other stuff I don't always wanting her to do.... I check on her ever hour outside and I go out to find her disappeared.. It's come to my attention that people have roosters everywhere when they aren't supposed to.. because we're in city limits and you'll get fined and have to get rid of your chickens... I'm afraid that she may have heard the roosters and ran on to go find them :l which really angers me that people are keeping roosters screwing up my flock of hens. My hen follows me everywhere... very annoying sometimes because she constantly makes noise but when she sees me she'll run or fly over to me. If she wants to go be with the roosters that's fine I just want to make sure she's okay. Regardless i shouldn't have to keep my chickens in a prison just to make sure they don't go to the roosters that we aren't even supposed to have

I think she may have broken out through a hole.. A small one but I think she can fit through it

There are several possibilities why your hen has disappeared - she may have a hidden nest somewhere, she may have gone to join another flock (with roosters) or she may have been taken by a predator.

The only way I know to keep chickens from roaming and staying where they belong and to make sure they are safe is to keep them fenced in or confined to a coop/run.

I hope she comes back safe and sound.

I know what you mean about people keeping roos they aren't supposed to. I follow our city ordinance to a T, meaning no roo and hens penned at all times. People down the road a block have a roo and let their flock wander, even into the street.

Funny thing is, no one really seems to care. I'd think if they got complaints, they might be more likely to follow the rules. I'm not snitching, though.

I kind of act like a rooster to them lol they follow and Chase me around everywhere. One time it was raining and I see a shadow smack into my window and it was my hen trying to tell me she wanted to be inside lol my girls stick to me like glue that's why I was surprised when she disappeared... No rooster can replace me! Lol I <3 my girls.... I was also very mad because if they were breaking the rules and caused my girl to take off that's messed up

I won't snitch either because I love my chickens to you know? And I would hate for someone to even try to report them for whatever reason. I don't think anyone would but sometimes people are jerks... Especially in my area oh my God do I have stories lol but regardless they still should follow the local laws -_-

I’d boubt she ran to another flock,chickens aren’t like dogs and go and find their mates,the rooster would have to be atleast in her yard or atleast across the street for her to even get remotely curious about a rooster,she probably adventures too far.
