Impacted Crop?

I got week old chicks on Sunday, and today I went to check on them and found this guy. The feathers are not wet in the area that his skin is visable, and I am not sure what to do. It looks very swollen/full. Could he have an impacted crop, or may it be something else?

What type of bedding do you use in your brooder?
Also, what do you feed them?

Check this chick first thing in the morning and see if the crop has gone down.

I feed them Nutrena chick starter, and I use large pine shavings.
I am going to take a wild guess and say he is either really full on feed or he ate some shavings.

Is he pooping?

Just check it first thing in the morning, the crop, to see if it is empty or not.
It should be empty.

Looks like a full crop to me. Understand that if you are using a heat lamp the chicks will eat all night long and the crop will still be full in the morning.
