I went to the zoo in Sacramento and was impressed by the impeyan pheasant. Is it easy to tame and is he quite? I would like to buy couple eggs and any help is appreciate.

Pheasants are not REALLY tameable like chickens. And impeyans go for like 400 a bird.when looking for pheasants early spring, and fall are the best times. Due to hatches.

Wow where are you getting them at 400.00 per bird? They go for 400.00-500.00 a pair for breeders around here. The could be calmed down but I don't think tame and that would take a lot of time.If you get them as chicks I think you would have better luck with them.
In N.H.,Tony.

here is Sacramento, $400 is the pair and they cost less in other places. 400 a bird is too much. The reason I want eggs is to tame the chicks.

If you get them don't plan on landscaping their pen - they will do it for you. They like to dig a lot! My friend has them and he gets tired of their digging but they are pretty birds.
