I have 2 coops. In one of the coops some of the chickens had Coryza. In another there is only 2 chickens who are super healthy.

Well I have 1 hen who is sitting on 4 Phoenix eggs (also the breed of the 2 in the new coop). The hen who is sitting on the Phoenix eggs is in the other coop where the chickens had Coryza.

I want to move the hen with her eggs to the other coop with the 2 Phoenix's and I was wondering since she is in the other coop will she have Coryza somewhere in her and could she give it to my Phoenix's???

I really hope not.... ): .... And I really need to know this ASAP!

P.S. She's NEVER had Coryza herself. :)

I've read that they had to have Coryza and recovered to be carriers. What exactly were you infected birds symptom? I have something horrible going on with mine and can NOT figure it out.

Coryza can live in the ground for a while depending on the conditions. You really need to disinfect everything with bleach solution and let it dry for a couple weeks before you put anything else in there. The coop, the waterer, the feeder, EVERYTHING. A chicken can have Coryza for weeks without ever showing a sign. How do you know that's what they had for sure. If a chicken ever has coryza it will be a carrier for life, whick means in can and will infect everything it comes in contact with. Click on the link in my sig line and read up on it.
