Ok so yea i have 3 adult ducks who i missed the chance for imprinting but now i have a second chance with the ducklings that just hatched:) i was wondering how do you imprint on a duck? Please give me ideas or things i could do to imprint on them:) thanks

Ducklings imprint on the first large thing they see between days 1 and 5 (And in some cases later.) Ducklings will also imprint on their siblings so it is important to only have one if you want a strong imprint.

What can I do like I was the first thing they saw but they're scared of me:(

There are many interesting articles on the web about true imprinting and the responsibility that comes with having an animal imprint. If you want your ducks to just be comfortable around you, then patience is required. Visiting the ducks (ducklings) many times a day, speaking softly and staying still will help. Within each group some will be more comfortable with you than others. Have patience.

Even if the duckling doesn't imprint on you, you can still have a wonderful bond with the animal. I picked up my three ducks at 2 weeks old, and they are incredibly sweet and very comfortable around me.

Ducklings have a natural instinct to flee, so it will take time and patience for them to be accustomed to you. I would suggest sitting down and letting them move around you. Talk to them and give them treats. I used tomatoes to win over their little hearts.
