I am incubating 30 chicken eggs with a little giant ..... I had eggs ( ten) set aside up to five days before incubating...the humidity has been in the mid sixties. I put them in the incubator on the 23 Feb. Should I do lock down before the 12th?

Howdy:welcome:frow Happy:ya to have you join the family. Enjoy your time here at BYC! :)
By the 12th, do you mean 12 days into incubating or March 12th? Also, your humidity is too high, should be between 35 to 45%. Only want high humidity the last 3 days of incubation.

Hatch chick cannon.gif

Set the eggs for hatching(lockdwon) on day 18.

Humidity is a bit high. Many do better closer to 35% for the first 18 days. 60 to 65% is good for lockdown.

Experiment to see what works best for you. The most technical way to set humidity is to use weight loss. Watching air cell development is dicey because of eggs being a lot of different sizes.

Happy hatching!
