Calling all cage bird gurus!
Josh and I are getting married, and I'd like to get him a birdie for a wedding gift. This is a big, tough army man who turns into a total mushball in the presence of anything with feathers. He had a lovebird as a child that he nearly gets misty when he talks about her.
So I want to get him a birdie
I'm not wild about pet stores, I'd like to get the birdie from a small-scale breeder who hand raises. Cuddliness is a must, although I know lovebirds can take some work at first.
Also I need a sexed bird, because it has to be male. His childhood birdie died of eggbinding, and it was horribly traumatic and he has stated that we will never own a female of any kind of house bird.
I'm willing to drive to neighboring states!
Anyone know anybody fantastic? I'm sort of unsure where to start looking.
