Wondering if the 21 day hatch time applies to a broody hen as well? I have a girl sitting on three eggs and if the 21 days apply then they will hatch around NEXT SUnday, not this weekend. Does the cold weather effect hatch time? Annd also, this is kinda silly, but do they hatch right under the momma, or does she move? And how will they dry in the cold weather? thanks guys, this is obviously my first hatch(if it works out!)

Some of our hen hatched eggs have hatched at 20 days but thats as early as we have gotten. Normally, the chicks are dry and fuzzy before we even know they are there. Must be some sort of "momma hen" magic!

I think it's simply magic that they can do it without a thermometer and hygrometer! SO scientific for us to hatch eggs, but natural magic for them!
