Day 8 of incubation have some I can tell candling that are viable and other not sure they are really dark is this good are bad first time incubating temp is 99.5-100 and humidity is at 50%

It depends on the thickness of the shell, and how much pattern is on them as to how much you can see, but if the light isn't obviously shining through then there's a good chance they are fertile. Good luck!

I had a BCM egg and I could not tell it was fertile till day 10 then it was just by looking at the aircell. I am going to post a pic of my egg to make you feel better, it is day 4, dad is blue isbar, mom is leghorn. Egg is white.

Sometimes it's hard to tell. Usually the infertile ones will glow more. I just leave them in if I'm not 100% sure it's infertile.

Tomorrow will be 14 days so lockdown I put them in at 6pm should I turn them tomorrow at all or lockdown after I turn tonight

lock down is day 18 when you stop turning, hatching will happen on day 21, no helping required. They will pip a hole (day 20 or so) and then rest for up to 12 hrs, so don't worry about them.

That is for chicken eggs. Coturnix quail eggs hatch between day 16 to 18. Lockdown on day 14.
