I'm using LG 9200 still air with egg turner.
Trying to use a water wiggler this time and wondering if a meat thermometer will work accurately?
If so, what should the temp be, 99.5?

Any help is appreciated.....i set the bator up today and am stabilizing temps and humidity.

BTW, earlier, the wiggler temp was about 90 while the bator temp was at 104.
Does this sound right?

Last time, bator temp was at 100.0 and had great hatch rates, am using same flukers thermometer/hygrometer and temp is 104 with water wiggler temp only at 90.

the temp inside the wiggler should be 99.5, but it takes a long time to get to temp. The get mine to 99.5 I also had to have my still air at 103-104 because of the air gradient from top to bottom. You might be gettiing different readings than last time due to the placment height wise in the bator. Is it at the same height as last time?

Yes, It does take quite a while for the temp in the wiggler to get up to the maximum for the temperature in your incubator. That really is the point in having the wiggler in there. It lets you know what the actual temp is like inside the egg. Once you get your temperatur to the proper setting you will see that the fluctuations in the air temp reading will not make a significant difference in the wiggler temp. Mine too reads 104 for air temp and 99.7 in the wiggler. I have another thermometer in there that is not as close to the light and it reads 100.9. I could put two or three more inside the unit and I would probably get a different reading on each. That is why the wiggler is such a great idea it takes the crazies out of the process.
